Major studios in the LA Porn industry have halted production of making any more porn flicks after a certain male porn actor tested positive for syphilis and allegedly concealed the fact that he had the disease for who knows how long!
The crazy part is, is that the dude who spread the disease was secretly hiding the fact that he had tested positive and was submitting forged STD test results every time he went to shoot a scene. The actor has allegedly worked in SEVERAL films before the disease came to light, and now there is a total number of nine performers who have tested positive for syphilis, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Five cases were reported last week which initially caused the halt in production. This week there have been four more cases reported and clearly the discovery of more cases is more than likely.
Dr. Jonathan Fielding, the director of the Los Angeles Country Department of Health, said “It’s not surprising in the adult film industry that we would have transmission of all sexual transmitted diseases because they’re having unprotected sex, often times with multiple actors. And in this outbreak, the current number of syphilis cases will grow.”
So what now you ask? All actors are required to take antibiotic injections and once they receive the antibiotics, he or she will be available to work again within 10 days. Because syphilis can go undiagnosed for up to nine months, a simple detection test will not do the trick.
The health and well being of the actors are most important in this situation seeing as syphilis, if left untreated, can cause permanent damage to internal organs including the brain and heart.
So, until everyone has received the antibiotics, the porn hiatus could last for weeks, according to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
But don’t you worry! You can’t catch an STD through a computer screen so you’re in the clear. Just remember, when you’re having real sex, wrap it up because some of the STD’s out there can be pretty damn deadly.
